A handful of American Fork High School teenagers are busy constructing an eco-conscious playhouse to be auctioned off at this year’s Festival of Trees in Sandy. Oakwood Homes, the business sponsoring the project, will be taking it up to the Festival of Trees.
“Oakwood Homes believes in giving back to and supporting the communities where its homeowners live, and partnering with local schools is part of that effort,” said Michelle Byrge, Oakwood’s vice president of marketing. “Helping students at American Fork High School gain skills in home building is helpful to them and to a growing industry, and the children’s playhouse project was a great way to do that. The icing on the cake is that the playhouse will be donated and then auctioned off at the Festival of Trees for Primary Children’s Hospital, a cause we all support.”
