10 Reasons You’ll Love Living in the Colorado Front Range

As Custom Home Builders, We Know Life Doesn’t Get Much Better Than This!

Colorado is well-known for its many outdoor activities. Beautiful summers draw hikers, bikers, and campers from all over the country to explore mountain trails, run the rapids, and fish the many lakes that populate the region. Winters are filled with snowy activities — skiing and snowboarding in particular.

The Colorado Front Range provides a unique backdrop to activities in and around the Denver area. If you’re looking for new homes for sale in Denver and are wondering how you’ll spend your weekends once you get here, we have news for you. There are so many things to do, you’ll never get bored!

Custom Homes Builders Who Care

Many custom homes builders in Denver have created master-planned communities that offer activities designed to help you meet the neighbors and make new friends. These neighborhoods are a good place to start. Luxury home builders strive to cater to everyone, regardless of who they are or where they come from. With an extensive array of floorplans, neighborhood amenities, and green spaces built into the community, you’ll find everything you need to get settled quickly in your new Denver home.

After You Get Situated

Once you get the boxes unpacked, you’ll be ready to explore the town. That’s when you’ll realize why so many people move here. These are our 10 top reasons you’ll love living in the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies.

  1. Family-friendly attractions. Denver has something for everyone, including the younger ones. The kids will be enthralled with Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park; it’s always a family favorite. Visit the Downtown Aquarium to learn about aquatic creatures, or check out the Children’s Museum of Denver. Interactive exhibits keep little hands busy and little minds working overtime.
  2. Performing arts. If live theater is your style, you’ll appreciate the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Live productions and big-name concerts can be found nearly any night of the week. Many smaller theaters are scattered throughout the city, making Denver a cultural gemstone.
  3. Museums. Denver is also home to several award-winning museums. The Denver Art Museum features Indigenous and Western art collections that are second to none. Next door, you’ll find the Clyfford Still Museum, showcasing this artist’s Abstract Expressionist works. Several other museums throughout the city have different themes, and many host exhibitions throughout the year.
  4. Sports. Denver has plenty of excitement for sports enthusiasts. Home to the Denver Broncos, the city also has several other professional sports teams: Colorado Rockies (baseball), Denver Nuggets (basketball), Colorado Avalanche (hockey), Colorado Rapids (soccer), and Colorado Mammoth (lacrosse). Throw the many local teams into the mix, and you’ll have year-round games to keep you cheering.
  5. History. Denver played a legendary role in the Gold Rush and settlement of the Wild West, and you’ll find traces of this history scattered throughout the city. Larimer Square, the city’s oldest block, features 19th-century Victorian buildings that now house urban shops and unique restaurants. In lower downtown Denver (LoDo), you’ll find the last remaining early business in the city, Rockmount Ranch Wear. Celebrating four generations of dressing cow hands and celebrities, Rockmount Ranch founder Jack A. “Papa Jack” Weil created western fashion. Today the store also houses a museum of vintage western wear and memorabilia.
  6. Pet-friendly. As one might expect from such a down-to-earth city, Denver is pet-friendly. You’ll find several dog parks in the downtown area ideal for letting your pet socialize and get some exercise. Local parks are great places for dog walkers, too. Just make sure you follow the leash laws and any other park rules.
  7. Denver Union Station and transportation hub. Denver Union Station is a renovated 1914 Beaux-Arts train station that now houses 10 chef-owned restaurants and bars, several boutiques, and the historic Crawford Hotel. Denver Union Station also serves as the city’s transportation hub, providing access to RTD’s front-range bus route, a free shuttle to the 16th Street Mall, and access to the Downtown Circulator and the FasTracks light rail line. Amtrak trains also run from here. Wherever you want to go, this is the place to start.
  8. Bike paths. For those who like to get outside, Denver has an extensive network of bike trails suitable for commuters, mountain bikers, and BMX riders. With multiple bike parks and 196 miles of on-street bike lanes, Denver is a cycling paradise.
  9. Public art. Public artworks are featured throughout Denver thanks to its Public Art Program. This program stipulates that large city-driven capital improvement projects include public art in the design and construction phases of the project. Visitors and residents enjoy visiting the Blue Bear, the Bucking Bronco, and the Blue Mustang, three of the city’s most notable works.
  10. Scheduled events. Denver is all about community and having fun. You’ll find many scheduled events to take advantage of throughout the year, including Denver Day of Rock, the Denver Chalk Art Festival, Slow Food Nations, and Oktoberfest.
